It's entirely possible Eames' traitorous heart has waited until precisely this kind of moment to blindside him. Arthur—beautiful, competent, untouchable Arthur—seems human and vulnerable stretched out on Eames' sofa beneath his grandmother's afghan, and Eames experiences a rush of feeling for Arthur so strong it stops him in his trainers. He fully expects to find skid marks when he looks down.

Arthur and Eames have always had an arrangement of sorts: Eames goes to Arthur when he's in trouble, and Arthur doesn't get in trouble. But when Arthur starts turning up at Eames' door with mysterious injuries everything changes.

Eames is a beautiful stranger she sees time after time on a subway train. More she looks more she gets sexually obsessed with him. Once or twice he catches her staring at him. Once he sits or stands close enough to finger-fuck her in a public.

Arthur draws himself as upright as he can, prepared to refute this calumny with an itemized list of people he's had sex with over the last year, ordered by rating and number of positions and possibly categorized by gender and hair color (real or dyed).

Summary: So as it turns out, Arthur is in love. This is not a particularly welcome revelation, besides which he isn't quite sure what to do with it.
