Sherlock Holmes is an Oscar winner in the midst of a career slump. John Watson is an Everyman actor trapped in the rom-com ghetto. When they are cast as a gay couple in a new independent drama, will they surprise each other? Will their on-screen romance make its way into the real world?

Between the usual drunks and the young squatters, all pierced and dirty and begging to be victimized, there are always people in casualty late at night. A junior blurts out, “It’s like a war zone,” one morning around 2:30, which makes John snort. He hopes no one hears him. John tries to get his work hours then.

Sometimes he still ends up at work in the early mornings, when young children might be brought in to A and E.

“You need a plaster, doctor,” a little ten year old tells him, as he stitches up a cut over her left eyebrow. “On your fingers.”

Children notice too much. They look somehow wise and scornful, even when they don’t say anything.

It reminds him too much of Sherlock. See, he can say his name. He’s fine.

John and Sherlock aren't flatmates. Instead, John gets a job in Bart's morgue, and Sherlock attempts to abscond with body parts.

Which is just not on.

John didn’t mind following two steps behind: two steps behind Sherlock was still miles ahead of everyone else.

Sherlock Holmes is everything Father John Watson should probably disapprove of. He's an atheist, a rationalist, an addict, and gay. But none of those things is enough to stop him from being the most fascinating person John's ever met.

Omega!Moriarty/Beta!Moran

"Does it bother you to work with men?" Jim asks guilelessly. He widens his eyes innocently. He's dropped his usual accent in favor of Sebastian's, making everything he says sound uncomfortably over-familiar. "I mean, because you're a homosexual."

This is just delicious. Glimpses of Moriarty's hatred about being an omega without it becoming a bogged down angsty mess. Watching Sebastian get over some of his prejudicies and seeing his already (relatively, it's Jim people) emotionally intimate relationship with Moriarty deepen.

This is definately in my top three Alpha/Omega kink fic and it amuses me that I can clarify it like that. Yay! Popular strange kink.
