Entity Importer | Drupal.org
The entity importer module provides a user interface for site administrators to import various entities. At the moment the module only support CSV files as the source, but due to the plugin type architecture this can easily be expanded to other file formats. There are also plans in the road-map to support other common source types moving forward.

Dynamic migrations using "templates" in Drupal 8 | Web Omelette
In this article we are going to explore some of the powers of the Drupal 8 migration system, namely the migration “templates” that allow us to build dynamic migrations. And by templates I don’t mean Twig templates but plugin definitions that get enhanced by a deriver to make individual migrations for each of the things that we need in the application. For example, as we will explore, each language.

Drupal 8 Migrate - importing clean data via .csv file | DrupalEasy
Well, you could clean up the data, but there's actually a much easier solution that I use by default on almost all string data being migrated - I use the "callback" plugin to in-turn call the PHP trim() function on incoming strings in the "process" section of the migration configuration.

UI and drush command for core upgrades from D6 or D7 to D8 - the plan is for this to live in contrib for now and ultimately bring the UI into core (a decision will be made shortly before RC whether it will make it into 8.0.0) and the drush command into Drush itself.

In this post I’ll outline the procedure we use to migrate, and provide some solutions to common problems related to encoding, line endings and parsing HTML with QueryPath. Code snippets are provided inline, and complete source code is provided as a Github gist.

Typo3 Content Import for Grownups
We want to do a sql level import of a website that is a bit too much to import by hand and there is no chance of getting a trainee to do it during the weekend. Assuming we want to import a website into typo3 by packing the whole pages directly as text elements.

Migraine -- Synchronize your development, staging, and production sites' databases for Drupal 6 | Blisstering Solutions
Often Drupal developers are in a fix when it comes to synchronizing their development, staging, and live (production) sites' databases. Migraine, a python script, comes to the aid of all Drupal developers for this purpose. This small script allows you to maintain separate test and production versions of your Drupal site. What is JoomlaPack?
JoomlaPack is designed as a Joomla! component that can create a backup of your whole site (files and database) in the form of a single archive. In order to help you restore this, it also adds an installer, in the spirit of the standard Joomla! installer. All you have to do to restore your backup is follow the regular Joomla! installation procedure: unpack the archive, upload files, point your browser to the installation script, follow the installation screens and you're ready.
