I threw this camera out today. I’ve owned it since around 2002 or so. I used to carry it constantly alongside my RAZR and other (feature) cellphones. It was a great camera and cemented the Canon brand as “just works, good stuff” in my mind. I let my 3 year old son use it for several months and despite living in my pocket for years, it couldn’t take him.

The last American big-box electronic retail store left standing
"You really have to wonder what the United States of America will look like in ten years. So many multi-generational mainstays of middle-class suburban life are being rapidly swept away that there’s a Gone With the Wind feeling about American society. Pretty soon it’ll be like those heartrending scenes when Rhett smuggles Scarlett a pretty hat from Paris and she puts it on backward."

TASCAM DR-07
A nice looking recorder, and about $160 in Amazon. I don't need one now, but this is the kind of thing I'd get if I didn't already have the Edirol.

Can you get by for a week with just an iPhone?
Working off an iPhone for a week: "I did need to borrow a friend's laptop twice. The first time I needed to send an email containing a URL -- I really hate the fact that the iPhone doesn't have a copy/paste feature. The second time I needed to send a calendar invitation. Although I can create calendar events and accept/decline invitations, the iPhone doesn't allow me to send invitations. Other major limitations of the iPhone include lack of the VPN client I need to access our SharePoint site, and limitations associated with reading Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents."

New Live.com Services Shown at SearchChamps
See the part about MSFT Widgets ("gadgets") that you can drag-n-drop between the web and your desktop. It'd be tragic if it was IE only: the alpha-geeks would pan it.
