Richmond Park - Richmond Park - The Royal Parks
Of all the Royal Parks, Richmond Park is the biggest and arguably the best. Here you’ll find hordes of deer running wild, catch pro cyclists in training and even stumble on the home of the Royal Ballet School. It’s further from the centre than most, with even the London Underground not making it that far. Yet amidst these rolling hills and hefty oaks, there’s one spot where you can see all the way back to St Paul’s. Legend has it that this was where King Henry VIII brought Anne Boleyn on honeymoon – and also where he waited for the signal that told him of her death

Iceland Northern Lights Hotel | Iceland Hot Springs Hotel
"It doesn’t get more off-the-grid than the Fljót Valley on the mountainous Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland. This remote area is a gateway for adventures ranging from skiing to sea kayaking and the perfect location for viewing the Aurora Borealis due to its notable lack of artificial light. Located on a converted sheep farm, Deplar Farm blends into the natural landscape with its black timber cladding and living roof. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the property embrace the surrounding peaks and allow for an optimal perspective on the colorful skies dancing outside. Our winter season, from November through mid-March, may be short on sunlight, but days are still packed with adventures, like whale watching in the surrounding fjords, astro-touring the celestial events in our backyard, and fat biking groomed trails around the valley. Back at the lodge, many guests choose to spend entire days in our spa, hopping from the geothermal-heated indoor/outdoor pool to our Isopod flotation tanks and outdoor Viking sauna. And this time of year, our pool provides front-row seats to view the ghostly Northern Lights."

Mr & Mrs Smith - Boutique Hotels - The Best Luxury Romantic Hotels, Destinations, Holidays & Getaways
Mr & Mrs Smith began life in 2003 with two adventurous hotel lovers (our real-life Mr and Mrs: James and Tamara Lohan) and has evolved into a global travel club with a million like-minded members in more than 100 countries. Every club has a purpose. Ours is to knock your socks off, with help from the world’s best bedrooms. We don’t want this to be a one-night stand or a quick fling; we’re in it for the long-haul. Our carefully curated collection includes hotels in the sky (if you’ve never woken up in a treehouse, we can change that), hotels in caves, hotels above water, hotels underwater (well, partially), hotels a million miles away, hotels a short ride away, hotels where money is no object… All that, plus a host of idyllic villas and an ever-changing menu of tailor-made trips, too. It’s no accident that the collection is so special. Every hotel is visited by our team and anonymously reviewed by a diverse bunch of trusted tastemakers, including Lauren Laverne, Raymond Blanc, Olivia von Halle, Tom Dixon, Pandora Sykes, Tom Aikens, Stella McCartney, and Dita Von Teese, to name a few. Entry to the collection is by invitation only; money can’t buy our love (unlike some of our competitors). We listen closely to our members, too. Even the best hotels have off nights – but if that coincides with your stay, we’ll work out what went wrong, so it doesn’t happen twice. If the problem really can’t be solved, we’ll regretfully part ways with the hotel in question. Our collection constantly evolves, based on members’ feedback (plus our own regular hotel check-ups). We’re not perfect but we’ll always strive to be. In order to keep doing what we do best we’ve recruited more than 50 experts in London, Ibiza, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore. Smith24, our crack squad of in-house travel specialists, knows the collection back to front, thanks to frequent visits. When they’re not busy bed-hopping, they work around the clock, offering 24/7 customer service and booking support, both on the phone and online.

Deep into the Glacier | Ice Tunnel Tour into Langjökull Glacier
"Witness the magical world inside of a glacier on this once-in-a-lifetime journey. Recently opened tunnels, carved into the most stable part of Europe’s second largest glacier, Langjökull, make this unbelievable opportunity possible. You will meet your group and guide at Húsafell, or a point closer to the glacier if you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle and are visiting in summer. Once gathered, you will get into an impressive, all-terrain, eight-wheel-drive monster truck, and head up the slopes of Langjökull glacier, over an ethereal world of ice and snow. The vistas on this drive are magnificent, so keep your camera close at hand. The landscapes unfolding beneath you are stunning, and the endless surface of the glacier is so barren and beautiful that it is otherworldly. You will reach the entrance to the ice tunnels, put your crampons on, and head into the blue and white world inside of the icecap. For an hour, you will follow your experienced guide as they tell you all about Iceland’s glaciers, how they are changing, and, of course, how these incredible tunnels were created. Iceland is the only place in the world where such impressive passages into the ice have been built for the purpose of welcoming visitors. While natural ice caves do form on the lower parts of other glaciers during winter, they are notoriously unreliable due to flooding, and often too unstable to enter. Conversely, the ice tunnel in Langjökull is open year-round, and accessible in all but the most tumultuous of weather conditions. "

Gwrych Castle
"Local history claims that the first castle at Gwrych was built by the Normans in the 12th century. It was seized by the Welsh prince Rhys ap Gruffydd (the Lord Rhys) of Deheubarth in about 1170 who then rebuilt the timber castle in stone. This castle was later destroyed by Cromwell's army following the English Civil War of the mid-17th century. The later castle at Gwrych was begun in 1819. The castle is a Grade 1 listed building set in a wooded hillside over looking the Irish Sea. It was the first Gothic folly to be built in Europe by a wealthy industrialist Lloyd Hesketh. Bamford Hesketh, his son, inherited the title of Gwrych in his early 20s and used his vast fortune to build the 4,000-acre Gwrych Castle Estate. The castle once had a total of 128 rooms including the outbuildings, including twenty-eight bedrooms, an outer hall, an inner hall, two smoke rooms, a dining room, a drawing room, a billiards room, an oak study, and a range of accommodations for servants. There are nineteen embattled towers and the whole facade is over 2000 yards. Many feel the castle's outstanding feature was the castle's 52-step marble staircase. "

The best way to wash dirty clothes while traveling: Scrubba washbag!
"A Scrubba is basically a small, nobby-insided dry bag that works as a hand-powered washing machine. You toss your clothes in, add some detergent, fill the Scubba with water up to the marked line, roll the bag down to seal it, let the air out of the air nozzle, and then press, toss, squish (or kick) the bag for 3 minutes. Give your clothes a quick rinse, wring out excess water, and you’re good to go!"

Visit | Peace Palace
Feel the warmth of the peace flame on your back as you admire the most photographed building in The Hague: the Peace Palace. It is the seat of the International Court of Justice, the only judicial organ of the United Nations not located in New York, and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. This beautiful Neo-Renaissance style building, which was actually the winning design of an architecture competition in the early nineteen hundreds, and the organisations it houses have given The Hague worldwide recognition as the internationale city of Peace and Justice. The Eternal Peace Flame burns beside the entrance to the Peace Palace. The first peace flame in the Netherlands was placed beside the entrance gates to the Peace Palace on 18 April 2002. The monument bears the inscription: "May all beings find peace". Since 2004, the monument has been surrounded by the World Peace Path, which consists of a path of 196 large and small stones from 196 countries. Some of these stones are unique: they include, for example, a piece of stone from the Berlin Wall and a stone from Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years. The Peace Palace can be viewed under the supervision of a guide. Booking in advance is required. An interactive exhibition can be viewed in the Visitor Centre.

Home - Sudeley Castle & Gardens
"Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, Sudeley Castle & Gardens has played an important role in England’s history for over 1,000 years. Rated amongst the top attractions on TripAdvisor for ‘Things to Do in the Cotswolds’, the castle rooms and exhibits contain many fascinating treasures, from ancient Roman times to the present day. Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200 acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. The centrepiece is the Queens Garden, so named because four of England’s queens – Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – once walked upon the original Tudor Parterre. The Pheasantry at Sudeley houses a collection of 16 rare and endangered species of birds from around the world as part of Sudeley’s programme of breeding and conservation. Sudeley Castle & Gardens is also the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within its grounds – Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s six wives. Today visitors can explore the beautiful 15th century church where she lies entombed. The whole family can explore the castle’s fascinating past and enjoy a host of exciting events throughout the year. Children will love scaling the wooden fort and whizzing on the zip wire in the famed Adventure Playground, as well as tackling the brand new 10-piece assault course."

BoardingArea - required reading for frequent flyers BoardingArea
BoardingArea was developed by the same people who founded some of the most popular business travel and frequent flyer websites on the Internet including InsideFlyer, FlyerTalk, SeatExpert, and other pioneer travel websites. For more than 25 years, we have been providing news, information and advice for frequent flyers. Our goal has always been to provide frequent travelers with the information needed to make the most of their travel. Today, millions of people write blogs, hundreds of thousands write travel blogs, and hundreds write blogs focused specifically on subjects of interest to business travelers and frequent flyers. A select few of these are quite good, but your chance of finding them in the ocean of information known as the Internet is about the same as that of being struck by lightning while picking up your lotto check. This is where we come in. In our years covering topics of interest to the frequent flyer, we bookmarked the best frequent flyer blogs we stumbled across and even hosted one of the first blogs in this arena – View From the Wing. Now we’re sharing those bookmarks with you, the time-crunched traveler, by featuring all of the best frequent flyer blogs, all in one place. The blogs you will find on BoardingArea are the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the cat’s meow… you get the idea. Each blog in the BoardingArea network has been hand selected by our team for its quality of content, its timeliness and, last but not least, for its entertainment value.

#1 Site for Cheap Car Rentals | AutoSlash | Car Rental Deals
AutoSlash was founded on a simple idea: people should be able to get a great deal on a car rental without having to work for it. AutoSlash - finds the best deal based on the discounts you are eligible for, tracks rental rates and alerts you anytime a better deal is found, compares prices accross all major rental brands There are tons of coupons out there for rental cars, but it's too hard to find them and too hard to know which one is the best. You can spend hours looking for coupons, and then hours more testing them all out to see which one gives the biggest discount. It's not an easy process. So we set out to change that. All of us here at AutoSlash are avid travelers. On average, we each fly more than 50,000 miles a year. Most of us have been to all 50 states. Some of us have been to almost half the countries on earth. A few of us have worked at or even managed rental car offices. And we all do that on a shoestring budget—without compromising the experience. In other words, we're experts at traveling well and saving money. So we did.
