Venice glass factory in Mirano Italy making a glass horse - YouTube
Today Murano is a must visit destination for tourists and art and jewellery lovers alike. In 1291, the mayor of Venice, Italy ordered that all glass factories move to the island of Murano to prevent harmful factory fires from affecting Venice. Since then, Murano glass has developed a reputation for beauty and color. Murano glass is first identified by its location, then its factories, and finally its designers. You can identify these sources with a certificate of authenticity, a master glass maker signature or a Murano glass catalog. Most Murano glass art is made using the lampworking technique. The glass is made from silica which becomes liquid at high temperatures. As the glass passes from a liquid to a solid state, there is an interval when the glass is soft before it hardens completely. This is when the glass-master can shape the material. This video shows a glass making demonstration in on of the oldest Murano glass foundries. Whipsiderry Beach, Newquay, Cornwall in 2018 - YouTube
Video filmed in September 2018 on a beautiful Sunday morning. Location Whipsiderry beach between Porth and Watergate bay is a hidden gem of a beach voted in the top 20 of Europe’s best beaches in the Sunday Times. Whipsiderry Beach is a ten minute drive from Newquay but there is no car park, limited parking on the road, there are no lifeguards, no toilets and dogs are allowed all year round. Despite being situated very close to Newquay, Whipsiderry has a very different, wilder feel than the town beaches and there are no facilities. Whipsiderry Beach can be reached along the north coast road (less than a mile from Porth) or you can head northwards along the coastal path from Newquay. Quiet and sheltered, it is a beautiful beach surrounded by cliffs, but there are a long flight of very steep steps to negotiate down this beach with uneven concrete and variable height steps. Where to do CAA Approved commercial Drone Pilot Training in the UK - YouTube
We are looking to recruit CAA Approved drone pilots for commercial work in various areas of the UK. CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE AT http://ift.tt/295dYyr OUR CAA SAFETY PAGE - http://ift.tt/28ZHp4x OUR CAA APPROVED PILOTS PAGE - http://ift.tt/290mgDN Drone Photography Services has the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) “Permission for Aerial Work” PFAW which means, as a licensed commercial operator of UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles) we are governed and regulated by the CAA. The PFAW is mandatory for anyone operating a commercial aerial photography drone business in the UK, along with adequate public liability insurance. All of Drone Photography Services pilots are very experienced and have passed the CAA-approved exams and flight assessments. They all hold the established industry Remote Pilot Qualification (RPQ-s) for multi-rotor aircraft under 7kg. To fly a Small Unmanned Aircraft (‘SUA’) in the UK, either commercially or recreationally, all pilots are required to comply with CAP393: Air Navigation Order unless otherwise approved by the CAA. The main operational conditions for an SUA are: • Maintaining a distance of 50m from people and property not in control of the pilot. • During take off and landing maintain a distance of 30m from people and property not in control of the pilot. • Permission of the landowner to take off and land. • Do not fly directly overhead or within a minimum distance of 150m from an open-air assembly of over 1000 people. • Fly a maximum height of 400ft above ground level. • Maintain visual line of sight of the SUA to a maximum distance of 500m. • Fly during daylight hours, so that you can clearly see the SUA and take avoiding action from other air users if required. • Outside of controlled airspace. • Restrictions apply to certain areas of Central London and additional permissions to fly in these areas need to be sought from the CAA. • Restrictions and rules apply to flying near an airport and aerodrome. Drone Photography Services are fully insured against injury and damage for each flight with £5million public liability to fly at altitudes of up to 400 feet. The CAA Regulations for SUA - drones are extremely detailed, our operation manual and procedures for each aircraft has been examined and approved for commercial use by the CAA. Today, the CAA's focus is increasingly on identifying the key risks facing consumers and the wider public, then acting alongside the professional drones' industry to minimise the threat of harm. They combine rule-making, enforcement action and influencing into a flexible and pro-active approach to ensure that industry is focused on addressing these risks.
