Journal of Social Media for Organizations JSMO
About:
"Created as an open-access, peer-reviewed, electronic journal. It seeks to strike a balance between social media technology and the behavioral research that investigates how people use social media for the good of an enterprise. JSMO focuses on high-quality empirical investigations, analyses, theories, and case studies in social media development and usage.

They look for ways that social media can internally improve their employees' collaboration, information dissemination, organizational responsiveness, product quality, expertise finding, and organizational cohesion; and externally enhance relationships and interactions with and among customers, stakeholders, or interest groups. Research and technologies showing the effectiveness of different approaches for designing, developing, evaluating, and using social media are welcome."

Subordinated and finance by MITRE, a USA government research organization (note: especially in hindsight to defense / military).

Same old, same old. How the hipster aesthetic is taking over the world
Excerpts:
“Industrial furniture, stripped floors and Edison bulbs: why must we aspire to such bland monotony?
[…]
Though they’re not part of a chain and don’t have their interior design directed by a single corporate overlord, these coffee shops have a way of mimicking the same tired style, a hipster reduction obsessed with a superficial sense of history and the remnants of industrial machinery that once occupied the neighbourhoods they take over. And it’s not just London and Manchester – this style is spreading across the world.
[…]
As algorithms shape which content we consume on our feeds, we all learn to desire the same things, which often happens to involve austere interiors, reclaimed wood, and Edison bulbs, like a metastasised real-life version of Kinfolk magazine or Monocle.
[…]
Airbnb hosts as well as the company’s own architects told me that a certain sameness is spreading, as users come to demand convenience and frictionlessness in lieu of meaningful engagement with a different place.

The Oppressive Gospel of ‘Minimalism’
Excerpts:
"as an outgrowth of a peculiarly American (that is to say, paradoxical and self-defeating) brand of Puritanical asceticism, this new minimalist lifestyle always seems to end in enabling new modes of consumption, a veritable excess of less. It’s not really minimal at all.
[...]
Whiteness, in a literal sense, is good. Mess, heterogeneity, is bad — the opposite impulse of artistic minimalism.
[...]
But time often proves aesthetic permanence, as well as moral high ground, to be illusory.
[...]
it takes a lot to be minimalist: social capital, a safety net and access to the internet.
[...]
We misinterpret material renunciation, austere aesthetics and blank, emptied spaces as symbols of capitalist absolution, when these trends really just provide us with further ways to serve our impulse to consume more, not less."

Unfortunately the author Kyle Chayka doesn't name alternatives [from sustainability point of view].

Delicious RSS Feeds
One of the reasons to like Delicious is the easiness with which RSS can be used and configured. The following feed URL patterns use these placeholders: {format}: replaced with either “rss” or “json” {username}: replaced with a user’s login name on delicious {tag[+tag+...+tag]}: replaced with a tag or an intersection of tags. {url md5}: is intended for the MD5 hash of a URL. {key}: a security key for the feed, which can be found via the page associated with the feed (eg. inbox, network or bookmarks). Allows visibilty to otherwise private data. *** Useful examples *** a) Bookmarks from members of a user’s network: http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/network/fashionmeetsorganic b) Sniffing certain topics with subscribing bookmarks of one or several tags: http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/tag/organic HAG
