The Gender Spectrum Collection by Broadly
"The Gender Spectrum Collection is a stock photo library featuring images of trans and non-binary models that go beyond the clichés. This collection aims to help media better represent members of these communities as people not necessarily defined by their gender identities—people with careers, relationships, talents, passions, and home lives."

The Visual Telling of Stories samplers
"Welcome to Chris Mullen's website, The Visual Telling of Stories. You can go to the main gate or shuffle about in the Samplers till you get some hang of the place. It was started in 1996. Material is added every day. It is far bigger than you could ever imagine. I don't blame you for backing out, with a polite cough. I'll never know."

How to talk about gender at events
I love what I do, and I love talking about it. I’m lucky enough to be able to speak about it publically on a reasonably regular basis, but there’s one thing that makes me feel deeply uncomfortable at conferences - and that’s how they talk about gender. Taking a stand VS making a joke
"When much of the discussion on Twitter is political, it’s easy to see why, as a social media manager for a brand, you might feel like you should jump in too. But thinking is easy and writing is hard. Twitter doesn’t give you many characters to play with, nuanced conversation is almost impossible. Things spread and get shared in places you can’t reach, you’ll never have the last word."

Stories are taking over
"The inimitable Ian Bogost with some thinking on how stories are overtaking social media and how they are perhaps the first true smartphone media format. First, what are stories in this context? “Story” is a terrible name for this feature, because it’s so broad as to descend into meaninglessness. In ordinary parlance, a story is a generic name for a narrative account of something."

Welcome Back to the Village
"While the value that Strava the social network provides me is undeniable, Strava creates another construct. The humans who choose to be there are bound together by a shared purpose that I see each time I ride my bike. I often stop at the side of the road and get off my bike for a quick drink or bite. As other bikers pass, it is normal for total strangers to stop their ride and ask, “Hey are you ok?”

See, Strava built a village."

A chat with the Orwellian mastermind in charge of the UK town known as Scarfolk
"Scarfolk is a quaint town in the north west of England. At first glance it appears perfectly ordinary. Neighbours chat to each other over hedges while children play in the quiet, suburban streets. Yet this provincial place has received a lot of media attention over the past five years. Rumours have surfaced claiming that the town has not progressed since 1979 and the local council's poster production points to a community that is stuck in the 1970s. It's Nice That decided to find out more about the local society and its notorious designs."

The Polak Game, Or: Where Do You Stand?
This article describes the origins and uses of a classroom and workshop activity called "The Polak Game" or "Where do you Stand?". Over a dozen years of use to date, the game has provided a user-friendly structure for facilitating quite far-reaching conversation among foresight students and clients. Duration is flexible, but typically runs 30-60 minutes. It represents an effective and accessible approach to introducing "images of the future" as a basic property of both cultures and individuals, and so to pave the way for more advanced tools and frameworks.

Product Management is Culture Management
"Product management has two diversity problems. The first one is well-acknowledged: our industry must have more women, other ethnicities, and better representation from LGBTQIA. The second is more subtle: in those instances when we do achieve diversity, and especially cross-cultural diversity, we are unable to handle it."
