Turn off anti-aliasing on svg when applying CSS3:Zoom on the element? - Stack Overflow
To get Safari to render SVGs crisply (without fuzzy bits), add shape-rendering=“crispEdges” to the elements.

“crispEdges Indicates that the user agent shall attempt to emphasize the contrast between clean edges of artwork over rendering speed and geometric precision. To achieve crisp edges, the user agent might turn off anti-aliasing for all lines and curves or possibly just for straight lines which are close to vertical or horizontal. Also, the user agent might adjust line positions and line widths to align edges with device pixels.”

freeze - Why would Thunderbird regularly hang for 10 seconds - Super User
Some ideas on unfucking Thunderbird:
"In some cases, the problem can be caused by a mail summary file (*.msf) file being corrupted. This can occur when your folder is mildly corrupted due to not compacting it regularly. A quick and dirty fix is to:

"1. Exit Thunderbird.
2. Find your profile folder.
3. Open the folder containing your stored messages. For example, if you are using the Global Inbox, this would be the "Local Folders" folder inside the "Mail" folder. Otherwise, it's a folder named after the mail server, inside the "Mail" folder. For example, "pop.gmail.com" if you're using gmail.
4. Select the *.msf files and delete them.
5. Restart Thunderbird.
6. Wait for Thunderbird to recreate the mail summary file(s)."

[…]
"In some cases, the problem is caused when Thunderbird has trouble detecting and filtering junk (spam). This may be caused by a corrupted training.dat file. It may be necessary to delete this (Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Junk -> Reset Training Data -> OK) and retrain the [Mail Controls]."

javascript - How do I reload a Greasemonkey script when AJAX changes the URL without reloading the page? - Stack Overflow
(On triggering a Greasemonkey script once Ajax finishes:)
"How you do this depends on the site/application and on what you are trying to do. Here are your options, easiest and most robust first:

"1. Don't try to catch URL changes. Use calls to waitForKeyElements() to act on the parts of the various pages that you wanted to manipulate in the first place. This neatly handles a whole slew of timing issues inherent with all the other approaches.
See also: "Choosing and activating the right controls on an AJAX-driven site".

"2. Just poll for URL changes. It's simple and works well in practice, with fewer timing issues than all but technique #1.

"3. If the site uses AJAX that changes the fragment (AKA "hash"), fire on the hashchange event. Alas, fewer and fewer AJAX sites do this.

"4. Use Mutation Observers to monitor changes to the <title> tag. Most AJAX pages are nice enough to change the title too. This may fire before your target content is loaded, though.

"5. Hack into the history.pushState function. This gives faster notice of page changes, BUT 95% of the time, it fires before your target elements have loaded. You will usually still need a timer. Plus, it brings in cross-scope problems, in a userscript environment.”:

accessibility - What is the difference between aria-owns and aria-controls - Stack Overflow
This page offers a decent-ish summary on the differences between aria-controls and aria-owns. In short:

"aria-controls is intended to indicate that an element controls another one. E.g. control buttons for a video for instance, a toolbar for a visual editor or a button for a collapsible element. Screen readers like jaws will announce a shortcut to move the visual focus to the element. This requires the element to be in the visual flow (no display:none).

"aria-owns indicate that an element depends on the current one when the relation can't be determined by the hierarchy structure. This seems to have no effect on screenreaders."

"Animated menubar items was the culprit in my case as well. Disabling the MozyHome menubar item reduced WindowServer CPU from nearly 70% to ~5%.”

"Somehow my user preference file, com.apple.sidebarlists.plist, had acquired several keys with very long values (all named Bookmark); the lengths ranged from about 2.7 MB to 4.3 MB which made the size of the preference file larger than 11 MB. As of August 2015, it looks like the only way to customize the shortcuts in Excel 2016 for Mac is through System Preferences:

"For now, at least, you need to do this with the OS X System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts feature. This only works for commands that are available on the application's menus.

"I was able to create shortcuts this way for my two most frequent functions, Insert Rows and Delete Rows. The menu item for Insert Rows is called "Rows". It's on the Insert Menu, but you just enter "Rows" in the shortcut. The menu item for Delete is Delete in the Edit menu, so just enter "Delete".
