How Artificial Intelligence Is Revolutionizing Business In 2017
"The research found significant gaps between companies who have already adopted and understand Artificial Intelligence (AI) and those lagging. AI early adopters invest heavily in analytics expertise and ensuring the quality of algorithms and data can scale across their enterprise-wide information and knowledge needs. The leading companies who excel at using AI to plan new businesses and streamline existing processes all have solid senior management support for each AI initiative."

Three Things to Like about Acumatica - by @fscavo
"Customers of multi-tenant cloud ERP providers sometimes face a problem with resource consumption. Because one customer consuming an excessive amount of computing resources can degrade performance for other customers on the same node, the provider has to put limits on how much any single customer can consume. In many cases, the provider’s contract will call for a surcharge in periods when consumption exceeds some limit. Acumatica’s approach solves this problem by allowing customers who anticipate low levels of usage to choose a deployment option that is most cost-effective while allowing customers who demand higher performance to choose the second or third option, at a higher price point. Customers, of course, can start with one deployment option and move to another. Those few customers that desire an on-premises deployment or hosting by a service provider will need to choose the third option, the fully dedicated option."

Gartner Purchase of Corporate Executive Board Would Address Changes in IT Advisory Market
"Despite their big advantages, the big IT analyst shops face disruption. They face perpetual accusations of pay-for-play bias. Many techies say they know more about the topics than the analyst briefing them. A three-part podcast hosted by Kea Company describes how many smaller companies address these shortcomings."

How Frank Abagnale thinks like a con artist to improve security - by @ron_miller
"When he conducts a seminar, he often does a test where he drops some USB drives marked “confidential” in the parking lot where he’s speaking, and inevitably several people pick them up and stick them into their company laptops. They get a message that says, “This was a test and you failed.” He says he doesn’t do this to embarrass people, but to point out that one move like that could have cost the company billions of dollars."

A CFO Success Story: Jim Burns, CFO of Accela
" I think the combination of getting the mentors through my career that not only helped and coached me, but took chances on me to do jobs that I had never done before. Because I had kind of shown a track record before. I always believe your job isn’t just to run it, your job is to make it substantially better when you left the role versus when you started it"

A CFO Success Story: Vinay Mehra, CFO of POLITICO - by @dergelcfo
"Sometimes, as a CFO, you tend to look at things are pretty black and white. Things are just numbers. But when you get involved with a non-profit, the thing that I’ve come to appreciate is – sometimes, when you are making an investment, you don’t have a true ROI, from a financial perspective. But you will have ROI from a human impact."

Warning Signs of ERP Consulting Fraud - by @erickimberling
"Consultants are a lot less likely to go rogue when they have very clearly defined consulting processes, methodologies and standards in place. This goes beyond the typical ERP consultant’s PowerPoint deck outlining a fancy methodology acronym, but it includes clearly defined steps in the process that have ultimately been fine-tuned over years of experience in the ERP systems space."

The path to partnership in big consulting firms - by @vijayasankarv
"I can’t stress this enough. It should be the most obvious thing but some occasionally screw up on this front. For example – Don’t try to do a bad deal to up your sales numbers in time for your partner process. Most likely someone will find out and then you probably have shut the door on your chances for good. if someone in the panel even remotely suspects a lack of ethics or inappropriate behavior – they won’t go through with your case. No firm will risk that.
