Beyond Bitcoin: Oracle, IBM Prepare Blockchains for Industrial Use
"For OpenWorld, Oracle launched a Blockchain-as-a-Service, to be released in early 2018. The service will bundle the technology, make the system private, and guarantee compliance with all regulations, all of which have issues with getting enterprise companies on board, according to Frank Xiong, Oracle vice president of blockchain product development."

Event Report - Oracle Open World 2017 - Top 3 Positives / Top 3 Concerns - Overall good - by @holgermu
"On the concern side, Oracle needs to find a better way with customers and improve its image and day to day standing. Betting solely on the better product is risky. And with the overall bet of Oracle on the large, integrated, chip to click stack (from the Silicon to the user click in SaaS) – enterprises will even more think twice before they do business with a vendor of Oracle’s wreputation. Doing right and better with customers is always a good true North – but it seems it is not (yet) a priority for Oracle executives, as none of that was mentioned in the critical keynotes."

AWS fires back at Larry Ellison’s claims, saying it’s just Larry being Larry - by @ron_miller
" When Oracle chairman Larry Ellison announced his company’s new autonomous database product at the Oracle OpenWorld conference keynote, he took several minutes to disparage AWS, one of his chief rivals in the cloud market. As market leader, Amazon stands firmly in Ellison’s crosshairs, but AWS took exception to his comments, and decided to issue a public rebuke."

Q4 2016 Future of Work Developments & Trends Shootout - by @holgermu
"In a close finals match Oracle ekes out the win over SuccessFactors. While the IaaS decision for SuccessFactors for Azure will impact many SAP customers, Oracle has shown an overall push across the Oracle HCM suite, and most importantly acknowledged and shared that it is re-building the Taleo Recruiting capabilities on the Oracle Cloud technology stack, whenever Oracle completes that - it will be the most complete suite from a functionality perspective on a single platform."
