TermiT/Flycut: Clean and simple clipboard manager for developers

Forked from: https://github.com/snark/jumpcut/

It's just OK, but there's still no way to reliably ignore clipboard input from specific programs (like clipboard managers). Maccy pretty much gets the job done.

CutBox
This one is interesting because of the JavaScript transforms (which I didn't explore), and it does let you remove items from the history, but beyond that it's not great.

Flycut (available in the app store) is a fork of this.

Access clipboard in Windows batch file - Stack Overflow
tl;dr:
<code class="language-powershell">get-clipboard</code>

(works on Windows 10 at least)

The alternatives are ghastly:
Slimming it down (on a new enough version of Windows):
<code class="language-powershell">set _getclip=powershell "Add-Type -Assembly PresentationCore;[Windows.Clipboard]::GetText()"
for /f "eol=; tokens=*" %I in ('%_getclip%') do set CLIPBOARD_TEXT=%I</code>

- First line declares a powershell commandlet.
- Second line runs and captures the console output of this commandlet into the CLIPBOARD_TEXT enviroment variable (cmd.exe's closest way to do bash style backtick ` capture)

(and that was one of the _concise_ solutions)

This cannot be stored in a DOSKEY macro, because those can't be used in pipes.

AppIndicator support works in elementaryOS Loki. Seems to have a privacy setting to ignore input from applications like clipboard managers (seems to use Zeitgeist's settings; see https://esite.ch/2014/08/why-does-diodon-not-save-anything-to-the-clipboard-history/)

vim - selecting text tmux copy-mode - Super User
You definitely want to enable the Vi mode, though:
setw -g mode-keys vi

because for the life of me, I can't figure out how to copy and paste with the Emacs-mode keybindings.

Paste text on Android Emulator - Stack Overflow [http://stackoverflow.com/]
In a terminal, type adb shell input text 'my string here. With some characters escaped like \$ that'

This one's sketchy. I'm sure something wrong with the quotes there, but theoretically 'pbpaste' should be able to feed into this somehow.

Can I assign a system-wide external editor in Windows? - mac keyboardshortcuts | Ask MetaFilter
A sort of expert-level version of that script, which would also preserve the current clipboard and probably run a little more smoothly, would probably look like this:

^+e::
Clip = %Clipboard%
Clipboard =
Send, ^a
KeyWait, a
Send, ^c
ClipWait
Run, C:\Program Files\emacs-22.3\bin\runemacs.exe
Sleep, 3000
Send, ^v
Sleep, 500
Clipboard = %Clip%
return

Concern about clipboard history security - Google Groups
There is already an option to clear the Quicksilver Clipboard history. Open up the Clipboard History panel, click the cog in the top right hand corner and click 'Clear'.
The storage of clipboard history on disk has been removed in the latest version of the plugin, and this will no longer happen.

Finally, if you do not want the clipboard history to pick up contents from certain applications (e.g. 1Password, Keychain etc.) then open up the Quicksilver preferences, click the 'Clipboard' tab (on the left hand side) and type the names of the applications you would like Quicksilver to ignore.

You can safely delete the clipboard folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver without affecting Quicksilver.
