Upstart start-up script (Centos 6.x)
I couldn't figure out how to get 'initctl' to disable an init script in /etc/init (like the old 'chkconfig' did), so I just edited it by hand (as root) to comment out the 'start on runlevel' part.

systemd/User - ArchWiki [https://wiki.archlinux.org/]
I used this setup for manservant (https://github.com/jimeh/manservant):

<code class="language-ini">
[Unit]
Description=Run manservant on port 9292
# source: http://0pointer.de/public/systemd-man/systemd.special.html
After=network.target

[Service]
WorkingDirectory=/home/username/devel/developer/manservant
ExecStart=/home/username/.gem/ruby/2.5.0/bin/bundle exec rackup
Type=simple
Restart=on-abnormal

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
</code>

Then I enabled it with 'systemctl --user enable manservant.service' and I think that was basically it (?).
