How can I exit a batch file from within a function? - Stack Overflow
The 'exit /b' doesn't seem to be required, but this does work.

:halt

Environment variables for java installation - Stack Overflow
Set the following user environment variables (== environment variables of type user variables)

JAVA_HOME : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25
JDK_HOME : %JAVA_HOME%
JRE_HOME : %JAVA_HOME%\jre
CLASSPATH : .;%JAVA_HOME%\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib
PATH : your-unique-entries;%JAVA_HOME%\bin (make sure that the longish your-unique-entries does not contain any other references to another Java installation folder.

Notice that all these environment variables are derived from the "root" environment variable JAVA_HOME. This makes it easy to update your environment variables when updating the JDK. Just point JAVA_HOME to the fresh installation.

gitolite - git ls-remote returns 128 on any repo - Stack Overflow
In my case (having built OpenSSL/0.9.8h, curl/7.47.1, and git/2.7.2 from source), switching the URL from 'https://' to 'git://' allowed me to continue ('git ls-remote', 'git submodule init', whatever). WTF.
I figured it out. The problem was in repo's address. I have used git://host/repo address instead of git@host:repo. The latter fixed the issue.

Serving PHP with Apache: AddType and AddHandler - Apache Web Server forum at WebmasterWorld - WebmasterWorld
"You're also fighting "institutionalized" confusion between the very-different functions of AddType (which defines the MIME-type header to be returned with content to the client), and AddHandler, which tells the server how to handle each filetype in the server's filespace.

The examples posted above demonstrate this "institutionalized" confusion; Although the use "AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php" to declare a MIME-type as a content-handler is glaringly nonsensical, the fact is that it will work on some servers."

And once I discovered the above information, lo and behold, what do I find on the Apache wiki for PHP4/PHP5 [wiki.apache.org]? I find instructions to add the following to httpd.conf:

LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml
Action application/x-httpd-php modules/libphp5.so

So the "Action application/x-httpd-php modules/libphp5.so" directive here was the missing piece to the puzzle all along!

php - proper use of call_user_func_array - Stack Overflow

Some further testing showed that the above only passed the first item in the $params array to the callback... strange. So I wrapped it in its own array. Take that, thing I cant explain!

return call_user_func_array($helper, array($params));

Failed at step EXEC spawning /bin/plymouth: No such file or directory / Pacman & Package Upgrade Issues / Arch Linux Forums
You are right - the halt is caused by the error message on the screenshot. I had the feeling that plymouth was not to blame, but /srv/nfs/trunk got mounted eventually and that mislead me.

I had a bad entry in /etc/fstab. Why in the fuck should a bad entry in fstab cause the system to halt?
