How Yahoo Killed Flickr and Lost the Internet
Yahoo bought Flickr. They didn't let them run like a startup and forced them to do stuff that sucked (like a completely broken mobile app). Now they're terrible and it's too late.

Thomas Hawk Digital Connection » Blog Archive » Miami’s World Erotic Art Museum Fraudulently Uses the DMCA to Take Down Items in Their Collection From the Web
DMCA abuse by a museum: they filed takedown notices against a bunch of photos of things in their collection. They don't own the copyright on antient roman artifacts! Counter-claim filed and the museum may be willing to talk with the photographer.

Library of Congress Blog » My Friend Flickr: A Match Made in Photo Heaven (Library of Congress)
The library of congress has old (out of copyright) photos. They've decided to put them on Flickr. The world gets to see them PLUS the library of congress gets metadata (making them more valuable) because people tag them.
