Same navigation bar on multiple pages;;;
Same navigation bar on multiple pages;;;;;;
Very simple method ... but it means manual coding. But don't be put off by this, its easily the best method.

Rename all of your .html files to .php ... (so, index.html becomes index.php, etc).
Don't worry about this extension. It can be read like any text file!

Now, for example ...

Create a file called header.php
Place the navigation code (that you want to be on most pages) in this file.
(everything in between the <body> tags will do, nothing else is needed).

Now to place the navigation on the pages simply add the following line wherever you want it to appear:
<?php include("header.php"); ?>

One Menu for All Pages
My site is now at 20 HTML pages and will be growing. Is it possible that I store/manage the menu in one central place? I mean by doing so I don't need to cut and paste the HTML code on every page, and also I don't have to edit the code on every page when a change is made to the menu.

one same menu; multiple web pages;;;
Hey guys,

I'm new here and new to web design! I'm really having trouble with this concept, and have found some other threads but can't really understand them.

I need an explanation for a dummy. I have a basic understanding of what I'm doing in dreamweaver, and I can learn fairly quickly. What I want to do is have ONE navigational menu in a sidebar on all of my pages. This way i don't have to change every page when I add or remove something from the menu bar.
